Museum Set in 1955

Garenin (Gearrannann in Gaelic) restored  Blackhouse Village was a crofting township on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis consisting of 9 traditional thatched cottages which were were lived in till 1974. These cottages were the last group of blackhouses to be inhabited in the Western Isles.

There is a Café, museum and a resource centre, and a small gift shop.
Cafe open Monday - Saturday 8am - 5pm during summer (April to October)
